Heidi was the lover of Oetzmann, a German officer.
In September 1916, while Oetzmann and Hans Lehmann were at the German command bunker at Verdun, Lehmann begged his fellow commander for an introduction to Heidi, but Oetzmann intended to keep the woman's affections to himself. The two Germans were unaware that their banter was being overheard by Indiana Jones.[1]
