Heracles was a Greek hero and known as Hercules to the Romans.
Biography[]
The son of Zeus and the Greek princess Alcmene, Heracles was famed for his incredible bravery and strength, and for his superhuman exploits, in particular the twelve labors which he performed to redeem himself after Zeus's wife Hera made him murder his children.
The demigod was also connected to the origin of the Cornucopia, the Horn of Plenty.[1]
Legacy[]

As bedtime stories growing up, young Indiana Jones was told the feats of Heracles by his father, Henry Sr.[3], which he grudgingly enjoyed.[4]
Archie Malloy's work of having hauled all the gold he had hoarded was compared to a real labor of Hercules.[5]
