Hippopotamus, also simply known as hippos, are a species of large amphibian mammals native from the rivers of Africa.

In 1909, Indiana Jones encountered a herd of hippos in a pond alongside his friend Meto in British East Africa.[1]
Indy faced directly a hippo in 1936 while travelling with Marion Ravenwood on a raft on a tributary of the Sankuru River.[2]
