How to Fly a Biplane was an instructional manual, containing information on the basics of piloting biplanes. There was a copy of the book on the shelves of the Biblioteca di San Barnaba in Venice in 1938.
Behind the scenes[]
In the game Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure, the copy in the library that can be picked up is simply referred to as a manual. As the library is composed of many corridors loaded with many nondescript books, the manual can only be discovered by thoroughly skimming by each of the bookshelves. It can be used to help the player learn how to start the biplane found at the Berlin airport, bypassing the zeppelin portion of the game, and moving directly to the aerial combat gameplay. The only page that can be read in it is the starting instructions, leaving the player controlling Indiana Jones and his father in the same predicament as in the movie: "Fly, yes. Land, no."
