Hunter College was where the American archaeologist Indiana Jones taught classes as a professor in 1969 towards the end of his academic career.
History[]
Having moved on from his position as associate Dean of Bedford's Marshall College after 1957,[2] Indiana Jones took a job at Hunter College in Manhattan around 1959.[1]
In 1969, the professor had reached retirement and was surprised with a party thrown by his colleagues who gifted him with a clock. It was around that time that he was sought out by his goddaughter Helena who wanted his help in acquiring an unusual device which Jones and her father Basil Shaw had come across during the war.[1]

Behind the scenes[]
A real university, Hunter College's position within the world of Indiana Jones itself was established for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Harrison Ford revealed its name during a February 3, 2023 interview ahead of the film's release.[3]
Set dressing for the university exterior filmed in Glasgow,[4] illegible in the movie itself,[1] indicates that Hunter College was founded in 1868,[4] which predates the establishment of the real-life institution by two years.[5]
