A hyena is one of the larger species of canine, though they are closer to felines and viverrids. A carnivorous and scavenger predator, hyenas are native to Africa and Asia. Hyenas tend to form groups called packs, with a single dominant female and several males and young.
Adventures with hyenasEdit
A pack of spotted hyenas roamed the ruins of the pyramids at Meroë, Sudan. In 1947, Jones and Russian doctor Gennadi Volodnikov with his Soviet troops traveled to the site in search of the fourth and final piece of the Babylonian Infernal Machine. While exploring the site, hyenas attempted to attack Jones but he was able to overcome them.
