Influenza is an infectious disease.

History[edit | edit source]

In 1918, the world was caught in an influenza pandemic that would kill between 20-50 million people.[1]

Helen Margaret Seymour contracted the disease around October of that year and died one month later.[2][3]

Wu Han lost his family, both parents and a sister, to an outbreak of influenza.[4]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Footage shot in 1999 for The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones film Spring Break Adventure revealed that the disease which took Anna Jones' life was influenza, though The World of Indiana Jones role-playing game book had previously established that scarlet fever was the cause of death. Indycron continuity database keeper Leland Chee later clarified that it was Miss Seymour whose life was taken by influenza.[2]
