The mother of Irina Spalko gave birth to her daughter in Kazan in the eastern regions of the Ukraine Soviet Socialist Republic on May 26, 1921.[2]
When Irina's apparent psychic powers began to manifest themselves, she was ostracized along with her whole family. Her mother eventually came to fear her when she started to dissect small animals as part of a personal quest for knowledge.[1]
As soon as Irina was old enough, she fled from her mother and their village[1] for good. Thus, Irina's mother never saw her daughter ever again,[3] as Irina went on to join the Soviet Union in their quest for psychic warfare that ultimately claimed her life.[2]
