Irving Grant Thalberg, nicknamed The Boy Wonder, was an American film producer who worked for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer during the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Biography[]

Irving G. Thalberg was a filmmaker during the Golden Age of Hollywood. He dazzled Hollywood during the 1920s and 30s with a series of films for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer that were considered to have reached new heights of both in art and profitability. For his creative vision, he eventually earned the nickname "Boy Wonder".[1]

Legacy[]

An accolade, the annual Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award, was named in Thalberg's honor and given to "creative producers personally responsible for a consistently high quality of motion picture production".[1]
