James Morton was a doctor at an American mission in China.

Biography[]

When Indiana Jones was struck down with typhoid fever in 1910, James Morton was brought by Ah Pin and Helen Seymour to treat him but the three day ride it took to get to the village where Indiana was bedridden had forced his mother find another doctor in Wen Ch-Iu.[1]

On his arrival, Morton diagnosed Indiana with typhoid and commended Doctor Wen Ch-Iu on his abilities.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Ray Charleson played James Morton in "Peking, March 1910".[1] In Behind the Great Wall, the gamebook adaptation of the episode, Morton's role in the story is fulfilled by a different character, Reverend Smith.[2]
