The island of Java is an island of Indonesia.
When Indy and Remy were trying to track down the diamond known as the Peacock's Eye after World War I, they followed the German Zyke, who they suspected of knowing its whereabouts, all the way from Egypt to Java by boarding the same ocean liner in disguise.
