"Jerusalem, June 1909" was an un-produced episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, which would have formed part of the third season of the series. The subject of the episode was to have been archaeology, based around the theme of "Greed".
In this episode, Indy would visit Jerusalem. While his father Henry goes off an a separate trip to visit Crusader castles, Indy would have his first encounter with future mentor Abner Ravenwood, who invites Indy to spend time with him. Montague Parker, a grave robber, offers to let Indy work at his dig if he "borrows" a map that Ravenwood has which indicates that the Ark of the Covenant is below the Temple Mount. Parker's group, disguised as Arabs, enter into the temple and excavate, but are ultimately discovered. The temple keeper brings a large local mob who chase Parker's gang out of Jerusalem. In the end, Ravenwood would explain to Indy that the Ark isn't believed to be under the Temple Mount, but elsewhere, and someday a real archaeologist would find it, foreshadowing the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
In "Palestine, October 1917", Indy and his comrades suggest that they will be returning to Jerusalem by Christmas of 1917. Indy also mentions having once attended a dig in Jerusalem in Treasure of the Peacock's Eye, which appears to be a reference to this episode.
