Jeremy "Jez" Butterworth (born March 1969) is a British playwright, screenwriter and film director who has written several scripts with his younger brother John-Henry Butterworth.
On April 10, 2021, director James Mangold confirmed that the Butterworth brothers would assist him in writing the fifth Indiana Jones film.[1] They had previously worked with Mangold in 2019's Ford v Ferrari.
Butterworth's work on the film also represents another instance of Indiana Jones and the James Bond sharing cast and crew as the writer penned the screenplay for 2015's Spectre starring Daniel Craig. Within the world of theater, Jez Butterworth has won several plaudits including three Olivier Awards and a Tony Award.
