Doctor Joanna Campbell was the mother of Deirdre Campbell and Adrian Powell. She was head of the archaeology department of London University in 1925, and gave Indiana Jones his first teaching position.
Biography[]
The daughter of an English ambassador working in China, Joanna Campbell spent her first twelve years growing up in the Far East Asian country.[1]
She eventually became pregnant with Father Phillip Byrne's illegitimate son. The boy was put up for adoption and five years later, Campbell met the man who would become the father of her daughter Deirdre, born later around 1905 in Scotland.[1]
In 1925, Doctor Campbell was killed in a chlorine gas attack by her son, who had grown up to become British Member of Parliament and leader of the Order of the Hyperboreans Adrian Powell.[1]
Legacy[]
After her death Professor Victor Bernard was installed as chairman of the archaeology department at the University of London.[2]
In April 1926, Joanna Campbell posthumously became Indiana Jones' mother-in-law when he married her daughter.[2]
