José González was a Mexican revolutionary and a soldier in Pancho Villa's army.
Biography[]
After Pancho Villa's men raided the city of Columbus, New Mexico González and other soldiers took three prisoners (one of them Indiana Jones) and planned to kill them by firing squad. In the last minute, Pancho Villa himself appeared and told his men not to kill the prisoners. González then introduced himself and embraced the shocked Indy as if he was an old friend. José Gonzalez, along with the Belgian Remy Baudouin, would eventually become Indy's closest friend in Villa's army.[1]

González detested President Carranza and was a firm Catholic despite his life style.[1]
González was chosen to infiltrate his hometown in Ciudad Guerrero and change the points of a rail line in order to send a wagon with explosives against the walls of the city to facilitate the seizure of the place by Villa's army. However, González was shot down by a federale during the process. It was Indiana Jones who changed the points then and took away the wounded González when the attack on the city failed.[1]
Though González survived the failed attack, he died of his wounds some hours later.[1]

José González was played by Francesco Quinn in Young Indiana Jones and the Curse of the Jackal. His role is credited as "Francois" though the character isn't named as such in the episode.
