Juanita was an Spanish flamenco dancer in Barcelona during the First World War.
Biography[]
By 1917, Juanita danced in a local café in Barcelona. Both Allied and German spies would pay the establishment a visit, to see her dance. When Italian spy Marcello brought the newly arrived Indiana Jones there, Juanita smiled at him.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Juanita was played by an uncredited dancer/actress in Espionage Escapades. Juanita's name is established by Marcello.[1]
Being a Spanish flamenco dancer, Juanita is likely Spanish Romani (also known as Gitanos). The flamenco art form originated, and is closely associated, with the ethnic group.
