Jurgen was a German diplomat who accompanied Ulrich von Brockdorff-Rantzau and the German delegation to the 1919 Paris Peace Conference. He and his companions were almost attacked by an angry French mob and their bags were tossed into the streets by the hotel staff.
Indiana Jones, who had fought in the Great War on the Allied side and was working at the conference as a translator, handed Jurgen's case back to him out of sympathy.[1]
