Doctor Kafour was a local physician supporting the Egyptian diggers on Emmerich Voss' extensive 1936–'37 excavations of Gizeh.[1]
Biography[]
Doctor Kafour met Indiana Jones in October 1937 in Gizeh, Egypt when he mistook the American archaeologist for a tourist that had wandered into workers' camp just outside Gizeh Village. As he was investigating his Nazi rival's interest in the Great Circle, Jones claimed instead be from the US embassy in Cairo and asked how the German military presence was treating the diggers. Kafour conceded that he was only allowed to give the bare minimum of aid and his patients had no access to medicine as the soldiers were hoarding the available supply.[1]
Having already carried out a similar task for the clergy of Vatican City against Prime Minister Benito Mussolini's Fascists days earlier, Jones asked what would happen if he were to 'find' some medicine for the locals and a knowing Kafour indicated that any which came his way would be put to good use.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Doctor Kafour was performed by Joey Nabour in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.[1]
