"Congo" Kate Crawford was a big game hunter in search of Bigfoot when she was encountered by Indiana Jones in Washington State in 1937.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Upon introduction, Indy immediately recognized Kate Crawford's name from an article he read about her in "Liberty Magazine". Kate acknowledged the article and countered that Liberty had run a few articles on Indiana Jones himself. Kate was attracted to Indy and flirted with him rather brazenly.

In an odd twist of fate Kate was knocked off of a cliff and apparently fell to her death. When she was discovered to be still alive she explained that she'd remembered falling, then "something" grabbed her, but before she could see what it was she passed out.

Thinking Bigfoot was her rescuer, the hunter called off her pursuit of the creature and chose to return to Africa but she first planned on visiting the National Museum in Connecticut and the archaeologist there with the "most gorgeous brown eyes".

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

"Congo" Kate Crawford first appeared in Big Game issue #31 of Marvel's Further Adventures of Indian Jones published in September 1985.
