The Kawasaki Ki-10 was the last biplane fighter used by the Imperial Japanese Army, entering service in 1935. Built by Kawasaki Kōkūki Kōgyō K.K. for the Imperial Japanese Army, it saw combat service in Manchukuo (Manchuria) and in North China during the early stages of the Second Sino-Japanese War. Its reporting name given by the Allies was "Perry".
Indiana Jones encountered these planes in 1934.
Adventures with the Kawasaki Ki-10[]
In 1934, while recovering on the Kamikaze Maru after escaping an Imperial Japanese Army prison in the Sea of Japan, two Kawasaki Ki-10 biplanes, one being piloted by Second lieutenant Musashi, showed up and attacked the freighter. The lieutenant launched a torpedo that hit ship. The impact ignited the fireworks on the boat that burned through the ship that sent the vessel sinking to the bottom of the Sea of Japan, however the crew survived.
