It was formerly part of British East Africa, a protectorate of the United Kingdom. In 1920, the protectorate was turned into the Kenya Colony, which became independent Kenya in 1963.
Adventures in Kenya[]
At some point, Maggie O'Malley learned how to ride elephants in Kenya.
In September 1909, Henry Jones, Sr. was on his World lecture tour and had arranged a break for his family, to visit Richard Medlicot's coffee plantation. The Jones family, Henry, Anna, Indiana, and their tutor Helen Seymour arrived in Mombasa by boat. They spent a few days sightseeing in the city before heading off to Medlicot's plantation. They took a train towards Nairobi on their way to join the Theodore Roosevelt safari encamped at the Kirinyaga safari camp.
During World War I in 1916, when Indiana and Remy Baudouin were enlisted to Africa, they stopped at Mombasa. Companies C and D reported to Barracks 12 while Company E to Barracks 9, but the rest had to join their unit at Lake Victoria through the railway. Indy and Remy took the wrong train to Moshi instead of Nairobi.
In 1931, Indiana Jones flew to Nairobi and set out by car toward Mombasa, searching for the lost palace of Ali Bey. He eventually discovered the palace, and how to enter it, but had to deal with several competitors for the Invincible Ruby.[1]
In 1947. Indiana Jones was helped by a Nubian Boy in Meroë, Sudan who, after helping jones, travelled to Kenya, proclaiming he would have his own factory.
