The Nazi Kriegsmarine formed the German Navy from 1935 to 1945. It superseded the Imperial German Navy of the German Empire and was one of three official branches of the Wehrmacht along with the Heer and the Luftwaffe.
Indiana Jones occasionally encountered the Kriegsmarine forces during his high adventure days but not as frequently as their land and air counterparts.
History[]
In 1935, while Indiana Jones was searching for the Tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang with Chinese spy Mei Ying in Hong Kong, Mei Ying got kidnapped by Nazi Colonel Albrecht Von Beck who took her Peng Lai Island on a submarine. Indy and Wu Han followed them and discovered that Peng Lai was host to a Kriegsmarine base, complete with an armed garrison of troops, an airbase and a gondola system in the the mountains that led to the Black Dragon Fortress. Indy used a disguise to reach the peak and enter the fortress, battling soldiers and planes as he went.[1]
In 1936, while transporting the Ark of the Covenant on the Bantu Wind to the UK, Indy and Marion Ravenwood were intercepted by the Wurrfler. The U-boat took the Ark and Marion to Geheimhaven, a secret submarine base north of Crete. As with his adventure in China, Jones took a uniform to disguise himself. He witnessed the Ark of the Covenant's power on the island as it killed all Nazis at the ceremony.[2]
