The Leo Artifact was one of seven Mithraic relics which each represented, and was named for, a different initiation grade in the Cult of Mithras. The Leo, an ancient Roman Batillum symbolizing the fourth degree, was found by archaeologist Indiana Jones as he made his way through the bowels of Rome, Italy on October 23, 1937.
