This is a list of media relating to the Young Indiana Jones franchise, based on the prologue sequence from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles television series including its Adventures of Young Indiana Jones re-edit. Most marketing for the series focused on the pilot episode and first season episodes.

Four volumes of music from the series was released on CD and casette tape.

  • Laurence Rosenthal: Music for Television[2] (features the Young Indy theme and selections from Ireland, April 1916, Peking, March 1910, Prague, August 1917, Travels with Father and Hollywood Follies)
  • Best of the West[3] (features a re-recording of music from "Mexico 1916")
  • There is also a high-quality bootleg release of Curt Sobel's score to the episode "Transylvania, January 1918" from a promotional CD from the composer. It contains approximately 40 minutes worth of the score. This is frequently traded on the Internet as an unofficial Volume Five including album art from the Mike Butkus artwork for the Masks of Evil video tape release.

Documentaries[]

In addition to the ninety-four companion historical documentaries presented on the DVDs, three documentaries have been made which deal with the show:

  • Young Indy: Around the World is a documentary produced for the Japanese Laserdisc release of the series. It chronicles the making of the series from pre-production to post-production.
  • The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones: A Look Inside is a seven-and-a half-minute featurette produced for the 1999 video release of the series. It includes interviews with George Lucas and Sean Patrick Flanery.
  • Entertainment Tonight Presents: Indiana Jones: Behind the Adventure is a one-hour Entertainment Tonight special that aired in December of 2000. In addition to the series, the special covers the original the first three films, as well as the possibilities of a fourth film. It features interviews with Harrison Ford, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Sean Connery and many others.

Additional references to the series in other documentaries:

  • The 1995 documentary A Personal Journey with Martin Scorsese Through American Movies features clips from the series during the "The Director as Illusionist" segment. The clips accompanied an interview with George Lucas, and were intended to showcase ILM's effects work.
  • The StarWars.com web documentary "Here We Go Again" explains the role of the series in paving the way for the Star Wars prequel films. Additionally, McCallum mentions the series in the DVD commentary for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
  • A clip from "Young Indiana Jones and the Curse of the Jackal" can be seen in the documentary Empire of Dreams.
  • In October 2007, George Lucas and Rick McCallum recorded interviews for a press kit promoting the series' DVD release.[4] May websites uploaded the videos.
