Luigi was an officer in the Royal Italian Army during Prime Minister Benito Mussolini's Fascist dictatorship of Italy.
Biography[]
Around 1937, Fascist Italy's partnership with Nazi Germany saw a group of Royal Italian Army forces placed under the leadership of Third Reich Special Antiquities Collection agent Emmerich Voss with Officer Luigi joining the expedition in Sukhothai to retrieve one of seventeen ancient stone relics placed around the world along a Great Circle.[1]
By November, Luigi was working alongside Annika Lund at one of the expedition's Siamese digs when he and other soldiers heard a loud scream from the Demon's Tomb. The Fascists went to investigate and Lund was quickly carried away for emergency medical attention missing an arm accompanied by Officer Ezio but not before the confused officer asked why Lund had to be taken away if she was a doctor, to which Luigi berated Ezio and reminded him that the Swedish scholar was an archaeologist and not a physician.[1]
