Machete Landing (or Machete Junction) was a remote river outpost that lay along the Amazon River in South America where Peruvian guides Barranca and Satipo were based. In 1936, Indiana Jones approached the two to hire them as the pair possessed part of a map vital to finding the Temple of the Chachapoyan Warriors.
