Madeline Clayton graduated in the 1930s before earning a master's degree in student guidance. At some point she met and married Frederick Drake and the couple eventually settled in Brooklyn.[1]
She held a position as supervisor of student teachers at the City College of New York before retirement in 1964 led her to volunteer at a pair of boys' homes as a guidance counselor.[1]
In 1969, she passed away in hospital care during her early 60s, a death which impacted Indiana Jones enough that he kept a clipping of her newspaper obituary on the fridge of his New York City apartment.[1]
