Mads Dittmann Mikkelsen, R (born November 22, 1965) is a Danish actor, one of the nation's most prominent in cinema.
On April 15, 2021, Deadline announced that Mikkelsen had joined the production of the fifth theatrical Indiana Jones film.[1] In the film, he plays the role of former Nazi and NASA doctor Jürgen Voller. He had previously worked with Lucasfilm Ltd. in 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first installment of the Star Wars Anthology series, where he played Galen Walton Erso.
Mikkelsen is perhaps best known for his roles in movies like the Pusher trilogy, Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky, A Royal Affair, King Arthur, The Hunt, Doctor Strange (starring along with Alaa Safi), and the Oscar-winning Another Round (Best International Feature Film). He rose to worldwide fame for his portrayal of Le Chiffre in the James Bond film Casino Royale (starring along with Daniel Craig) and has also played the iconic role of Dr. Hannibal Lecter in the 3-season Hannibal television series. Recent movies include Chaos Walking, Riders of Justice and Men and Chicken. He also appears in the role of Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts film series, beginning with 2022 installment Secrets of Dumbledore.
Mikkelsen confesses that he is a big fan of the franchise since watching Raiders of the Lost Ark.[2]
