The Temple of the Forbidden Eye in India was dedicated to Mara. Legends warned travelers not to look into the eye of Mara and promised riches, eternal youth or future knowledge as rewards.

Mara was originally voiced by James Earl Jones in Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye but was temporarily replaced with new vocals during a special effects update to the attraction.
