Margaret Murray was a British archaeologist, Egyptologist and folklorist.
Biography[]
Archaeologist Indiana Jones was familiar enough with Margaret Murray that he called her "Marge". Murray was visited by philanthropist Dame Nawal Shafiq-Barclay on an excavation at Petra who took the opportunity to sketch her.[1]
Jones later found the drawing at Nawal's tent in Egypt in October 1937 and the pair, newly introduced to each other, briefly spoke of their shared association with Murray. When Nawal said he could keep it, Jones added the drawing to his Adventure Journal.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Although Indiana Jones and the Great Circle doesn't date it, the historical Margaret Murray excavated Petra in March/April 1937, the year the game is set.
