The Marshall College Museum was an exhibit space in Woolley Hall on the campus of Marshall College in the 1930s.
Administrated by the Marshall College Institute, it was one of the museums associated with curator Marcus Brody.
History[]
The Marshall College Museum displayed a Siwan Cat Mummy recovered by Indiana Jones in the summer of 1937 with the archaeologist unaware of its significance in relation to the Great Circle. That October, Brother Locus of the Nephilim Order broke into Woolley Hall one night and stole the artifact. Professor Jones made a futile attempt at preventing the theft but was overpowered and found unconscious hours later in the morning by his friend and curator Marcus Brody.[1]
Exhibits (c. 1937)[]

Behind the scenes[]
Although the National Museum has been present in the Indiana Jones franchise since its inception,[2][3] Ryder Windham's junior novelization of Raiders of the Lost Ark introduced a "Marshall College Museum" in reference to "the museum" mentioned in the movie itself that Indiana Jones and Marcus Brody intend to be the destination for the Ark of the Covenant.[4] The Indiana Jones and the Great Circle video game later established its presence within Woolley Hall and expanded its contents, making it a fully interactive space players can visit much of which is populated with pieces from actual real-world museums.[1]
The addition of the Marshall College Museum means that future (and possibly retroactive) instances of "the museum" could to refer to one of multiple locations on campus.[1][3][5] The university also has an exhibit space at the Marshall College Art Gallery.[5]
