The Mayan Statue was a statue of a kneeling human figure with arms crossed, created in the Mayan tradition. It was concealed in a hidden vault of a tomb in the rain forests of Panama.[1]
In 1939, Indiana Jones recovered the statue from its hiding place by moving some of the stones and carved faces around the vault. He discovered that there was a slight crack in the base of the statue, and made notes about the statue and its hiding place.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Mayan Statue appears in Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings as the Jade Figurine. Jones discovers the statue in a small cave below a broken bridge.[2] Both share the same artwork/concept art.[1]
