Any idea where to place this thing on the timeline? Story begins in 1938 but the log book starts in 1936, the hangar sorta kinda gets set up in the 1940s, the placemat has the hangar established in 1955 and the gimmick seems to be that you're visiting it "today"...
Yeah, that's a tricky one. I'd say story elements should be isolated and posted in their associated year, and references to dates without an associated "story" -- some sort of adventure narrative involving Indy -- don't have to be listed. So, maybe there's a timeline entry for "Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar (attraction) (introductory story)" in 1938, if there's a real story there; and another for "Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar (attraction) (modern story)" in 2015, if (say) Old Indy shows up as part of the attraction to retrieve some artifact he hid under one of the bar stools years ago.
In the likely case that Old Indy never shows up in the attraction, then maybe we forego a 2015 entry. Ditto for 1936 and 1955, if all that's associated with those years are (respectively) a routine log book entry and the hangar establishment. Those are events, not adventures.
OK. If that's all there is to it, it's not an adventure.
The Adventure Timeline is really meant to list original stories involving Indy. If the attraction doesn't involve a new story with Indy as a character, than maybe it doesn't belong in the timeline. Maybe it's better to treat it as a source, like The Lost Journal of Indiana Jones. Thoughts?
I don't have strong feelings one way or the other about it. The link, I mean . . . you should get back on Facebook, naturally! :-) The associations between the two franchises is perhaps a little weak for my taste -- do we really want to open up affiliations to all the other Indy knock-offs out there? (Relic Hunter?) On the other hand, all we're really talking about is a link, and links are what makes the web go 'round. Which way are you leaning?
If I could just say one thing: The Librarian franchise isn't a knock off of the Indiana Jones franchise. Although the franchises are quite similar, the Librarian franchise deals with more fantasy type things at the same time, stuff I've never seen in Indiana Jones. Keeping magic out of the hands of the Serpent Brotherhood, having an entire magical Library at their access, and recovering items for the Library etc. it has huge differences from the Indiana Jones franchise, while being similar. The reason I asked for affiliation is because the Librarians do recover artifacts, like Indiana Jones, and I thought it'd be cool if the wiki's could be affiliated.
