Mexico City is the capital and largest city of Mexico. The modern city is built over the site of the Aztec city of Tenochtitlan, on a former lakebed in a mountain plateau.

Mack Stanton once traveled to Mexico City to prevent a rival "antiquities agent" from selling the ill-gotten collection of one of Stanton's clients.

In 1957, Indiana Jones and Mutt Williams flew from New York City to Peru on Pan American Airways, stopping to change planes in Havana, Mexico City and Cusco before landing in Nazca.
