Michael Sheard (June 18, 1938–August 31, 2005) was a British actor who appeared uncredited in two Indiana Jones movies: as the submarine captain in Raiders of the Lost Ark, and as Adolf Hitler in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Sheard initially auditioned for the role Toht in Raiders of the Lost Ark, but the role was given to his friend, Ronald Lacey. Lacey and Sheard both returned to play Nazi leaders in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, with Sheard getting greater screen time while Lacey remained in the background.
