The Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" was a single seat Japanese fighter plane flown by the air service of the Japanese Imperial Navy. It was a successful dogfighter plane during the Second Sino-Japanese War; however, by the time of the wider World War II conflict, it had become outclassed by more powerful American fighters.
Indiana Jones encountered the aircraft during his adventures.
History[]
In 1938, Indiana Jones was captured by Chinese Warlords near Hankow while searching for the Covenant of Buddha. The Japanese Imperial Army and Army Air force attacked the town, searching for the same artifact. The Japanese Zeros began strafing the town, giving Indy and his allies a chance to escape their captures and find some transport.[1]
In 1947, Indiana Jones traveled to Palawan in the Philippines to find Taklit's piece of the Infernal Machine. While there he encountered the remains of the Japanese Imperial Army and Navy presence in the country. He used a hammer to hack off the propeller blade of a crashed Zero in a lagoon and used it to open a door that led to the Palawan Temple.[2]
