The Monk Diamond was a treasure sought by Indiana Jones and Remy Baudouin in 1919 after being discharged from the Belgian Army.
In March, the pair opened a box in New Guinea which they thought contained the diamond but instead found further clues to its location which would take them to India in April. Jones and Baudouin eventually became at odds with each other over pursuing the diamond as Jones wanted end the search and resume his studies back home.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Intended for an episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles's third season that never came to be, the Monk Diamond element was repurposed to become the Peacock's Eye in "Young Indiana Jones and the Treasure of the Peacock's Eye" which was eventually retconned to become the diamond that traded with Lao Che in the opening scenes of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
