A Mounted Cop for the New York City Police Department in 1969 attempted to calm an old man who approached him during the Apollo 11 ticker tape parade trying to report a series of murders at nearby Hunter College. However, the man, archaeologist Indiana Jones, was still being pursued by the Neo-Nazi Klaber so he ended up stealing the policeman's horse when the officer dismounted.[1]

The Mounted Cop was portrayed by Joe Gallina in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.[1]
Though unconfirmed, it's possible that the Mounted Cop was the one who alerted the authorities that Indiana Jones didn't kill Mandy and Plimpton as there's no indication Indy is still being sought at the end of the film, given how he listened to Indy's side of the events when approached and how Klaber punched him.[1]
