A Nasty Croissant was encountered by Indiana Jones in the Cloaca Maxima on October 23, 1937 when a Blackshirt accidentally dropped it from the street above. The archaeologist, who had encountered several tempting examples of the pastry on his journeys around Vatican City and Rome that day, decided that this most recent addition to over two thousand years' worth of Italian contributions to the sewer system would perhaps appeal more to the local rat population instead.[1]
