New York is one of the United States of America, located in the northeastern region of the country, and touching the Atlantic Ocean. Its largest city is New York City, located on the coast, at the mouth of the Hudson River.

Indiana Jones regularly visited the area in and around New York City, and kept residences there at different periods of his life and career.
The upstate area was home to Barnett College in Fairfield where Jones was a professor of archaeology.
