The New York Yankees are an American professional baseball team, based out of New York City. One of the oldest teams in the American League, they were well known in the 1920s and 1930s for their great ballplayers like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, and winning seasons, including many World Series wins.

In 1941, when Indiana Jones doubted that Reginald Brooksbank had actually found the Akashic Hall of Records, Jones claimed that if Brooksbank could tell him who would win the 1941 World Series, he would believe him. A film recorded by Brooksbank revealed that the Yankees would eventually beat out the Brooklyn Dodgers, information that a believing Jones would pass on as a good betting tip to Bert Brodowski.
