The Nile (also known as the Nile River) is a major north-flowing river in Egypt, Africa. It flows into the Mediterranean Sea through the Nile Delta.
History[]
In 1904 the Egyptian government took note of Howard Carter's achievements and hired him to oversee all archaeological activities along the Nile valley.[1]
Accompanying his father, Sallah Mohammed Faisel el-Kahir assisted American archaeologists on expeditions up the River Nile to perform preliminary excavations and the recording of Ancient Egyptian monuments' locations and hieroglyphics.[2]
In September 1943, Jock Lindsey took the OB-1 for a vacation along the Nile River. The pilot went on a fishing expedition but also took the time to hunt crocodiles.[3]
