Jock's seaplane
OB-CPO was the registration of Jock Lindsey's seaplane. Jock hired out his aircraft to fly Indiana Jones into and out of a South American jungle.[1]
Behind the scenes
The plane's registration OB-CPO is an inside joke aimed at Star Wars fans ("OB" refers to Obi-Wan Kenobi and "CPO" refers to C-3PO). Nods to the Lucasfilm Ltd. sci-fi franchise would continue in subsequent Indiana Jones works. The "OB-CPO" name was also included in the LEGO Indiana Jones set "Temple Escape!". At some point during the 1990s, a Raiders playset prototype was presented to the Galoob Micro Machines company with the hope of turning it into an actual set. It represented two sections from the film, Peru and Egypt, with the OB-CPO present in the former. The set, however, did not get approval and went unproduced.[3]
