Jock's seaplane

OB-CPO was the callsign of Jock Lindsey's seaplane. Jock hired out his aircraft to fly Indiana Jones into and out of a South American jungle.[1]

Behind the scenes

The plane's callsign OB-CPO is an inside joke aimed at Star Wars fans ("OB" refers to Obi-Wan Kenobi and "CPO" refers to C-3PO). Nods to the Lucasfilm Ltd. sci-fi franchise would continue in subsequent Indiana Jones works. The "OB-CPO" name was also included in the LEGO Indiana Jones set "Temple Escape!".

The real life aircraft that was used in Raiders of the Lost Ark was a Waco Aircraft Company UBF-2. The plane sits on display near the Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull theme park attraction at Disneyland Tokyo.[2]
