The Old World Museum was an institution that had received donations over the years from antiquities collector Walter Donovan. By 1938, Indiana Jones knew Donovan for his contributions and considered them extremely generous.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The museum referenced in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is named as the Old World Museum in Rob MacGregor's novelization of the film.[1] The Ultimate Guide implies that it is the National Museum which gets mentioned though it isn't stated directly, avoiding a potential continuity issue.[2] Eventually Disney Magic Kingdoms established a direct link between Donovan and the National Museum.[3]
