Omar was a young Moroccan slave of Emily Keene and her husband. He met Indiana Jones in 1908 and was ordered to be a good companion to him during his stay in the country.

Omar soon became friends with Jones who treated Omar as an equal, especially after he learned the full nature of what it meant to be a slave.
