The Palace Hotel was situated in Shanghai, China, in the former British Concession of the International Settlement. Comparatively more conservative than its sister site, the Cathay Hotel, the Palace Hotel catered to visiting royalty as well as celebrities such as Noel Coward.
The Palace and Cathay hotel straddled sopposite corners of Nanking Road and overlooked the northern end of the Bund.
