Palazzo Ricci is located in Rome, Italy along the Via Guilia.

History[]

Palazzo Ricci was the home of Father Orlando Ricci, a wealthy Spanish-born priest who doubled as both a conservator for the Vatican and was the secret self-styled leader of a revived Mithraic sect. However, things came to a head for Ricci on October 23, 1937 when his theft of an artifact from the Vatican Museums drew the attention of Father Cesare Ventura, a friend of Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini, and Ricci himself manipulated archaeologist Indiana Jones (in the area posing as the American priest "Father Gallagher") into investigating the Mithraic connection to the Nephilim Order so the cultist could slay the Cretan bull as a path to enlightenment in service to his deity, unaware that such entity was actually someone else.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Much like the Fountain of Confession in Vatican City, Palazzo Ricci is a real location fictionalized for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The historic structure on Via Guilia has been Palazzo Sacchetti (aka Palazzo Ricci-Sacchetti) for hundreds of years. Orlando Ricci, as with the notion of any private ownership of the estate by his family in the 20th century, however, is an invention for the game.
