Indiana Jones Wiki

Palestine is a country in West Asia. The territories share the vast majority of their borders with Israel, with the West Bank bordering Jordan to the east and the Gaza Strip bordering Egypt to the southwest.

Abner Ravenwood had spent his early days assisting archaeologist William Flinders Petrie excavating sites in Palestine.[1]

In October 1917, when the British and Australian forces were unable to take Ottoman-held Gaza, Major T.E. Lawrence recommended Indiana Jones, then serving in French intelligence, as a suitable agent fluent in Arabic and Turkish for a British spy mission in Palestine. Lawrence and Jones were re-united at the British camp in Palestine for a few days before Jones left on his mission to Beersheba, and Lawrence returned to Arabia. Jones with work the Australian Light Horsemen during the battle for Palestine, a pivotal campaign of World War I in the Middle East.[2]

One of the last known locations of the Staff of Aaron was within a sealed cave on Mount Hor in Palestine.[3]

In the wake of the inhuman tragedy of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler's racial persecutions, which dealt another blow to the dream of a united Arab state, another line in the Middle East was drawn and Palestine got partioned as a result, creating the new state of Israel to protect the Jews, which created a new category of refugees through the country's own population in the process.[4]
