The Perses Artifact was one of seven Mithraic relics which each represented, and was named for, a different initiation grade in the Cult of Mithras. The Perses, a sickle symbolizing the fifth degree, was found by archaeologist Indiana Jones as he made his way through the bowels of Rome, Italy on October 23, 1937.^[1]
